Bar Tables And Stools

The great thing about bar tables is that they are really fun to shop for! There are so many fun styles to choose from that you can easily spend hours searching through catalogs and furniture websites. However, if you don’t have time to do a lot of searching, here are some tips to help you narrow down your selection:

•    Keep in mind that bar tables tend to be smaller than the average dinner table. As such, you should consider buying two or three of them—especially if you have plenty of space. You also need to think about height. Do you want really high tables and stools or do you want them closer to the ground? If you’re only going to use the bar tables to accommodate friends when they come over for drinks, you can buy high ones. However, if your kids are going to sit down and eat, you should buy lower tables.

•    Decide on contemporary or traditional furniture. A lot of people like vintage bar furniture, but they don’t look great in every home. If you have a lot of sleek, modern furniture and décor in your home, then you need to choose contemporary bar tables. Only buy vintage or traditional if that design is already a current theme in your home.

•    You’re going to need some bar stools or chairs. Sometimes you can purchase an entire bar table set. However, if you’d prefer to buy everything separately, make sure everything matches. The stools need to be the appropriate height and size, although you can buy adjustable ones. On average, bar tables can seat four to six people. There should be one stool around every two feet or so.

•    Consider the cost. The cost of bar furniture varies significantly, depending on the size, finish, design, and model. One table can cost you anywhere from $100-$1,200, and each stool or chair will cost anywhere from $70-$700. While it’s always great to find inexpensive bar tables and stools, you don’t want to be TOO cheap with your purchase. Your goal should be to find fair deals on quality furniture.

•    Think about how you will be cleaning everything. All furniture requires the occasional dusting and wipe-down; however, certain chemicals can be harmful to bar tables.  Most manufacturers will have cleaning information on their websites, so be sure to check them out. Find out what type of polish you will need and how often the furniture should be cleaned.

Selecting the right bar tables and chairs for your home is a fun, but difficult process. Take all of these tips into consideration when buying to ensure that you get the best furniture for your kitchen or bar!

Meeting a date, unwinding after a hard day’s work, hanging out with friends, getting over heartbreaks, and even, conducting business deals—these are all some of the reasons why people patronize bars. What is that quality of a bar that attracts throngs of people daily? This, definitely, has to be the relaxing atmosphere. Here, helped along by the drinks served, customers are relieved of their inhibitions. Of course, they are going to require a comfortable place to sit and this is where bar tables and chairs enter the picture.

The furniture in any bar is next in consideration after the drinks; in fact how long your customers stay purchasing drinks, is hinged to a great extent on the comfort provided by the bar tables and stools. Thus, you cannot afford to treat their acquisition lightly. There are some vital points to consider in getting your bar table sets and this will be discussed here.

You cannot scrimp on quality when it comes to your bar furniture, which is why you have to purchase a set that is durable, trendy and comfortable. If the chairs and tables in your bar fulfill these three points, you will enjoy constant patronage.

The height of your bar tables is another important point. Typically they should be higher than a dining table, as they are meant to accommodate bar stools and chairs—which also tend to be high. Height also contributes to the overall effect of the customers feeling in charge as they survey their ‘domain’. This is an important selling point of bars—but of course, you already know that.

The material used in the construction of your bar tables is also essential. For obvious reasons, a glass bar table, while really trendy is highly impractical. The best material choice still remains wood; oak and cherry are good quality types. Other materials include wrought iron and steel. A variety of combinations are available in stores for you to select from.

Purchasing your bar furniture

Of course, I cannot go into all the qualities of a good bar height table—but you can! A bar business is not short term so you need to take your time to know all your options before making a selection. As always, the internet is a very effective research tool, learn to use it. Also, compare prices and ask for discount since you’d be placing large orders.

Land is one of the natural resources which are limited. As the planet earth is inundated with the burgeoning species viz. man, space available for habitats or homes is fast becoming a most expensive affair. Homes of necessity are becoming smaller and space management to avoid clutter and make everyday life convenient and smooth is imperative. Furniture like folding sofas or drop leaf tables is in demand.

A drop leaf table, generally circular, comprises of a fixed central section with two semi-circular halves joined by hinged leaves and supported by articulated arms, legs or brackets. Usually used for bedside meals by the English, its popularity has spread worldwide and is now commonly known as the flap and elbow table.

Although designed for occasional use, a drop leaf table is going to be a norm because of its space saving ability and easy portability. A distinct style of the drop leaf table is the Pembroke tables possibly earning their names from Henry Herbert who was the 9th Earl of Pembroke and was an amateur architect but a connoisseur of note. This type of table is equipped with two drawers and flaps on either side. The legs of the English styled drop leaf table are sustained and propped up by cross-shaped stretchers.

Furniture items that fall within the purview of being a drop leaf table are the Pembroke tables, butterfly tables, bracket tables and sofa tables. The sheer variety available on offer will be evident from the list of drop leaf tables outlined hereafter. There is the Jofran Height Doble in dark Chianti, butter specialty in cherry wood, halo styles Windermere Barley sugar twist, Westbrook pub table, hills dale tailored dining table, sitcom Taylor Collection wood bar table, liberty creations, ligo country classics, and Sabrina 5 piece dining table set.

You can also pick the medium oak round double drop leaf table, living accents kitchen breakfast cart, Francesco drop leaf found breakfast table, Hammary low country dining table, Linon home decor tavern pub set, Magnusson Montgomery rectangular sofa table, international concepts in black and small, and/or a riverside furniture medley dining table set. The drop leaf table variety was initially found mostly in England; their origins dating back to the latter part of the sixteenth century and presence of the Elizabethan and Jacobean variety are very much evident and for modern society, it’s a boon now.

Why You Should Get A Bar Table

Breakfast Bar Table

Breakfast Bar Table

This is a type of table that you will rarely find in a family house. A bar table exists in every bar or pub you have been to. It is where you sit when you want to have a beer with your friends. Both the table in front of the bar and the ones that exist throughout the store are called bar tables. Usually they are large enough to accommodate 4 people and light enough so that if there are more people, they are easy to move in order to attach two or three of them together. In that sense, there is no particular reason why they are called bar tables except from the fact that you find them in bars.

A pub however is not the only place where you can find a bar table. If you think about it, you will see that a bar table is no different than the bar that many bachelors have at their house. No one thinks that he can turn his house into a place where he can hang out with friends for a drink or two. I’m here to say that this is not necessarily the truth. I believe that if you choose the correct bar table, it can look amazing in your house as well. Imagine being able to go out with friends without ever needing to leave your house. Well, if you choose wisely, it is possible.

My suggestion is that you buy a tall bar table with 4 to 6 bar stools and place it in a corner in your living room. I also believe that the optimal place to put it would be near a window as this would also facilitate in generating the feeling that you are out having fun. Generally, a bar table, should also have a bottle holder for your drinks. Many even have glass holders where you can place your glasses so that you don’t even have to go to the kitchen. Your friends can come by and you can just relax at your new bar table, have some drinks, listen to some music and generally have fun as if you were out clubbing.

The only thing that I suggest you make sure to take care of, is that your living room has enough space to accommodate such a piece of furniture as they are usually a little large. Before you go out to search for one, make sure that you rearrange your living room in such a way so that you leave enough space for both the furniture and the bar stools.
