As I’m sure all of us can understand, as in anything, quality is a very important factor when considering the price of a console table. The better the quality of the table, the more expensive it will be. Quality is one of those factors that it is almost impossible to neglect in any case. The only good thing about this is that many times, sellers cannot evaluate the quality of the table precisely so there are many bargains out there to find.
Condition of the console table
Console tables are generally strong pieces of furniture. Even though that is true, they also need a certain amount of care. There are tables that can withstand almost anything but there are others that are very delicate and may suffer from many things such as age, weather conditions or negligence. This is very important for your collection as well. It is not enough just to collect the correct pieces. You need to understand that you need to be able to take care of your collection in such a way, that all of your pieces will remain in a good condition. Even the smallest crack can reduce the value of a table heavily. This needs both time and money and you need to know this before you start collecting. The condition of a console table is not always obvious for someone without experience. A console table can seem to be in a good condition and in reality it can be fairly damaged.
At this point I have to add a very important thing. If you are serious about your console table collection, then there are two choices for you. This is definitely very time consuming but, if you are serious about it, you will find out that you will learn some very interesting things. The other option you have is to hire an expert to work for you when you consider buying a piece. A console table expert is someone who will provide you with tons of help. They know everything that one needs to know about the subject and they will be able to evaluate your options and let you know which the best way to go is. My opinion, however, is that the best choice is to learn yourself. You may not be able to reach the level of an expert very soon, but after a while you will also become a console table expert yourself and no one will be able to trick you into buying something that is just not worth it.
