Bar Tables And Stools

Bar Tables And Stools

The great thing about bar tables is that they are really fun to shop for! There are so many fun styles to choose from that you can easily spend hours searching through catalogs and furniture websites. However, if you don’t have time to do a lot of searching, here are some tips to help you narrow down your selection:

•    Keep in mind that bar tables tend to be smaller than the average dinner table. As such, you should consider buying two or three of them—especially if you have plenty of space. You also need to think about height. Do you want really high tables and stools or do you want them closer to the ground? If you’re only going to use the bar tables to accommodate friends when they come over for drinks, you can buy high ones. However, if your kids are going to sit down and eat, you should buy lower tables.

•    Decide on contemporary or traditional furniture. A lot of people like vintage bar furniture, but they don’t look great in every home. If you have a lot of sleek, modern furniture and décor in your home, then you need to choose contemporary bar tables. Only buy vintage or traditional if that design is already a current theme in your home.

•    You’re going to need some bar stools or chairs. Sometimes you can purchase an entire bar table set. However, if you’d prefer to buy everything separately, make sure everything matches. The stools need to be the appropriate height and size, although you can buy adjustable ones. On average, bar tables can seat four to six people. There should be one stool around every two feet or so.

•    Consider the cost. The cost of bar furniture varies significantly, depending on the size, finish, design, and model. One table can cost you anywhere from $100-$1,200, and each stool or chair will cost anywhere from $70-$700. While it’s always great to find inexpensive bar tables and stools, you don’t want to be TOO cheap with your purchase. Your goal should be to find fair deals on quality furniture.

•    Think about how you will be cleaning everything. All furniture requires the occasional dusting and wipe-down; however, certain chemicals can be harmful to bar tables.  Most manufacturers will have cleaning information on their websites, so be sure to check them out. Find out what type of polish you will need and how often the furniture should be cleaned.

Selecting the right bar tables and chairs for your home is a fun, but difficult process. Take all of these tips into consideration when buying to ensure that you get the best furniture for your kitchen or bar!
